A rapidly growing segment of Center Systems is train radio communication – an area which is characterized currently by a great variety of national analogue radio systems, and which will be replaced in future by all railways in Europe and beyond by a homogeneous and interoperable digital radio system according to the GSM-R standard.

The Center CGR3000 GSM-R cab radio supports this new technology through a future-oriented concept. The smallest cab radio on the market provides certified compliance to European railway standards, fulfilling almost every mounting situation supported by its robust and smart design. To support the migration from analogue to GSM-R based communication, the CGR3000 adopts the approach of interfacing the existing analogue radio systems to provide full dual mode operation, enhanced by a full colour, high-contrast display. Both old and future rail vehicles benefit from this future-oriented approach. This approach is underlined by the recent decision for continuation of the product support for the existing Dual-Mode cab radio ZFM21, which has been abandoned by former supplier EADS. Center Systems will support the existing customers and will maintain the product in hardware and software with the aim to integrate the two product lines – CGR3000 and ZFM21 – into one seamless modular single and/or dual mode cab radio.
