Vyzkumny Ustav Zeleznicni, a.s. - Railway Research Institute, j.s.c. (VUZ) is a company specialized in expert services and comprehensive solutions concerning assessment, testing activities and consulting for railway systems and rail transport. The authorised activities such as conformity assessment and accredited activities such as testing belong to major branches of VUZ activity. VUZ is a company with know-how in the field of railway industry for more than fifty years.

CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES
The granted authorisation entitles VUZ to the activities of conformity assessment of constituents and verification of sub-systems of rolling stock, infrastructure, energy and control command and signalling of the European rail system in accordance with Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI). By this decision VUZ is becoming an Authorised body No. AO 258 within the Czech Republic and also a Notified body No. 1714 within the EU (click here).

VUZ TEST CENTRE VELIM
The practical verification of technical parameters and running characteristics of railway vehicles directly on the track belongs to the most effective modern testing methods. VUZ Test Centre Velim operates two railway test rings - Large Test Ring and Small Test Ring, which rank among the most important and recognized test centres of railway technology and railway facilities in Europe. Its technical equipment forms a unique compact unit, which enables to perform the running tests of rolling stock, its railway equipment as well as other experiments and laboratory tests.
