ERS Railways is a tone-setting railway company within A.P. Møller - Mærsk Group’s Container Inland Services division. It was established in 1994 by four competitors: P&O, Nedlloyd, Sea-Land and Maersk; each liner company taking a 25% shareholding in the new private railway company.

Today, ERS Railways’ specializes in door-to-door combined transport solutions primarily between sea ports and inland terminals. Its network of direct shuttle trains spans across Europe offering customers a network specializing in the transportation of container & swap bodies. ERS Railways’ transport solutions are a fast, cost competitive and sustainable greener alternative to truck.

ERS Railways main customers are a broad cross-section of shipping lines, trucking companies, forwarders, manufacturers and a variety of other companies. New destinations are regularly added to our network to meet our customers’ needs and provide flexibility and fast, reliable door-to-door service.
