The MMV (standing for Hungarian Private Railway) Ltd was founded on the 1st of December 2003. The foundation was based on the order Nr 15/2002 (27th February) passed by KÖVIM, the competent ministry of that time. The company got the Railway Operating Permission Nr 4/2004. for delivering and shunting on the 8th of July 2004.

The railway market in Hungary was liberalized on the 1st of May 2004. The MMV started its competition with the road competitors, the state implements and the Cargo Branch of MAV (standing for Hungarian State railway) Ltd - which has 150 years experience - on this liberalized market.

After the first years' difficulties and miscarriages, as a result of our hard work the number of our partners and their orders increased, so in 2006 we reached an amount of 827.000 tons of delivered goods. Our basic activity is delivering goods by block trains, but we are flexible according to the new needs of the market. We reached significant results in delivering oversize goods and dangerous products. Delivering abroad is also possible based on our contracts with partner railway companies.
