The LEKOV company was founded in 1934.

In the 1950s the factory was nationalised and incorporated into the ŠKODA concern, its production focusing on electric traction instruments. Since 1993 LEKOV has been in existence as a private Czech firm.

A significant step in the company´s history was its transformation to a joint-stock company in September 1997.

Since 2003 LEKOV is a member of Faiveley Group. In April 2006 the daughter company OOO Lekov in St. Petersburg, Russia, was founded.

Today LEKOV is the leading industrial enterprise in this field in the Czech Republic.
