Information about the company:

Since its foundation in 1980 Zakład Wyrobów Metalowych RESTAL has been producing metal parts for locomotives, freight and passenger cars as well as specialist spare parts for rolling stock. It is at present run by Elżbieta Rembiasz as a private company belonging to the small and medium-size enterprise sector. The company employs 30 people on permanent basis and maintains a steady annual sales increase rate of about 20%.

Since 2004 RESTAL has been employing ISO 9001 quality management system in production of metal spare parts for rolling stock and the shipbuilding industry according to the procedures specified by RWTÜV Systems GmbH certificate. Following an investment project and using the opportunities offered by the Sectoral Operational Programme “Improvement of the Competitiveness of Enterprises” the company has modernized acquiring two new CNC machines (a vertical machining center and a universal CNC lathe). This enables RESTAL to shorten delivery times and meet higher quality demands of customers operating on the rolling stock, ship and machine building, and automotive markets.

Technologies and production possibilities:

1. Machining: 

• turning on conventional and CNC machines (machining range Ø20 – Ø700)
• bar and section cutting on an automatic CNC band-saw blade (max Ø240)
• milling and machining of curvilinear surfaces
• hole boring (max Ø 450)
• flat surface and cylinder grinding 

We have 10 conventional and 4 CNC machines including a 4-axes vertical machining center. We are able to make any metal detail - machining precision to 0.01 mm.

2. Cold plastic working and smithery 

• sheet metal guillotine cutting
• rolling, bending, press drawing
• die shearing 

We produce metal parts for rolling stock and shipbuilding requiring the use of specialist machines and tools (100T presses, 3-roll sheet rolling machine 4.5mm/2000mm, guillotines 12mm/2000mm, bender 6mm/2000mm).

3. Heat treatment 

• induction hardening (surface) and through hardening
• oil tempering 

Heat treatment is conducted using specialist plant i.e. electric soaking furnaces and oil tanks and a semi-automatic plant for induction hardening (30kW).

4. Oxygen and plasma cutting CNC, welding 

We are able to cut out metal details of any section and oval shape from materials up to 50 mm thick. Metal details are joined into subcontracted parts or end products using a wide range of 

• welding techniques such as:
• gas welding
• electrical welding
• gas shielded welding 

5. Anticorrosive protection and painting: 

• galvanizing and applying protective metallic coating
• priming
• spray and powder painting 

Anticorrosive painting of our products is done in our factory whereas specialist metallic coating is done in cooperation with subcontractors.
