AUTOSAN S.A. – LONG-ESTABLISHED TRADITION IN STEEL FABRICATION

AUTOSAN S.A. is a well-known bus manufacturer in Poland. However, during its constant, over 170-year-long presence on the market, it has always adapted to the market trends, changing its production profile. It varied from tooling for oil and brewery industry to steel bridge constructions, always aiming at customer satisfaction. It was one of the largest train carriages and wagon manufacturers in Poland. Today, apart from being a leading brand on the automotive market, we serve wide range of industries and applications, including rail, defence and commercial sectors.

MACHINING AND FORMING

Manufacturing buses from the chassis to the surface spray painting, we hold a diverse stock of machines. Our fabrication and engineering division provides an opportunity for existing and potential customers to have material formed, machined, welded and painted. AUTOSAN’s comprehensive range of services includes the following: 

•  CNC processing centre HAAS VF-5B/40 HE – 3D milling, drilling, threading, boring. The working space has the dimensions of 1270 x 660 x 635; 

• CNC turning, drilling and milling; 

• MIG/MAG and TIG welding using high quality EWM welders; 

• Burning by laser (Bystronic Bystar and Bystronic Bysprint). 
Sizes up to 1500 x 3000 and thicknesses up to 20 mm on black steel, 12 mm on stainless steel and 8 mm on aluminium are achievable; 

• CNC bending (Tauring bender) 

• Galvanizing and anodizing 

• Professional spray painting

All devices are operated by qualified and experienced personnel, who are obliged to continuous training and to renew their license in due course.

DEVELOPMENT DIVISION AND TOOL SHOP

Our Product Development Engineers work closely with Technologists in order to prepare engineering and technical documentation as well as drawings using CAD software. Afterwards, all the tooling necessary for both standard and special production is manufactured in our tool shop, which is a key factor in the company's success. Created to provide support to the plant production, the shop has evolved into an independent fabrication shop for precision parts and CNC manufacturing operation. The tool shop has in-house heat-treating, quality control and metrology.

WELDING TO DIN 6700 STANDARD

Having been awarded AQAP 2110: 2003, we are allowed to manufacture goods such as shelters with electromagnetic interference shielding for the NATO forces. However, we have not contented ourselves with it. In addition to EN 3834-2 and DIN 18800-7, both proving the high standard of welding in our shop, we have recently been granted DIN 6700-2 in class C1 allowing us to manufacture railway vehicles and their parts with a high safety significance. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of automotive transport, we realize that the latter can be overcome by the railway. AUTOSAN S.A. wants to serve both branches of mass transit. We manufacture components and assemblies as well as complete railcar bodies, and we are in readiness for building prototypes.
